Welcome to Southside Junior High School Library Ms. S. Blanchard, MLIS, has retired as the librarian at Southside Junior High School. Her love of books will be missed. We wish her well. The new librarian at Southside Junior High is Lindsay Varnado. “Any book that helps a child to form a habit of reading, to make reading one of his deep and continuing needs, is good for him.” Maya Angelou The mission of SJH library is to provide services and information to support the academic, artistic, and recreational needs of the staff and students. SJH Library’s aim is to promote literature appreciation and information skills. SJH Library will promote reading to encourage students to become lifelong learners. SJH Library Rules: Books are checked out for 2 weeks. Books must be returned on or before due date. (10 cents per day overdue). Report lost book to librarian ASAP. Students are responsible for books checked out. If a student has a lost, damaged, or overdue book he/she cannot check out books, and must pay for book/fine. Books may be checked in/out before school (7:15-7:35) and with reading class. Students are expected to maintain proper library behavior.

Juvenile Easy [JE] – for birth through 2nd grade readers
Juvenile [J] – for 2nd through 6th grade readers
Young Adult [YA] – for 6th through 12th grade readers
